The Christmas Party 2017
What an excellent evening, thank you to all of you who came along, and we hope you enjoyed the mixture of good food, drink, party games, quizzes and the awards. Below is a list of the award winners this year, well done to all of you, and good luck for 2018!
Phillip Oosterbrink
Head Gardener Canterbury Catherdral
Phillip treated us to an excellent talk about his career in gardening, on the history of the Catherdral gardens and his plans for the future. There was a good turn out, thank you to those who came along
Great Dixter
An extra event to our normal programme was a visit to Great Dixter house and gardens. The gardens were colourful, even so late in the season. We were also taken on a guided tour of the house.
Andy Sturgeon with Club Chairman Frances Moskovits
Andy Sturgeon is one of the world's leading landscape and garden designers. Combining traditional materials and contemporary styling, his garden designs are widely admired for their timeless architectural qualities, innovative planting and sculptural characteristics.
The Sissinghurst Talk given by Head Gardener Troy Scott-Smith was very well attended with over 80 people entertained with Troys talk on his life as a gardener and his vision for the future of the gardens at Sissinghurst.
Thank you to all who attended, bought raffle tickets, supplied prizes and to the members who did the teas and coffees.
On 14th October 2016 our club was privedged to have a visit from Andy Sturgeon, one of the world's leading landscape and garden designers, who gave an excellent talk.
The sell out audience were treated to an insight into where he gets his ideas and how he interprets these into his award winning designs.
